Meet Natalie

Natalie Kaebisch (nee Bates)

Coach. Physiotherapist. Former professional cyclist.

I've spent much of my life on both sides of performance — as an athlete and as a coach.

My personal cycling career began at the age of 10, racing on both the track and road, and culminated 18 years later after a decade representing Australia at the highest level of the sport.

During my career, I spent seven seasons racing in Europe and was part of teams competing and winning at World Cup races and Grand Tours. I represented Australia at the Road World Championships on five occasions.

From winning a Junior World Championship Road Race medal in 1998 to taking Commonwealth Games gold in 2006, I experienced the sport from junior through to senior level, from club racing through to the pinnacle of international competition. This experience has given me a deep understanding of what it takes to perform — and of the many different paths an athlete can take to get there.

After retiring from racing, I worked extensively with the NSW Institute of Sport cycling program for seven years, coaching and mentoring athletes across both track and road cycling.

Athletes I have coached have won State and National titles, Junior and Senior World Championship medals, Commonwealth Games medals and WorldTour race victories.

Following my retirement from full-time cycling, I completed a Master of Sports Physiotherapy, building on my undergraduate physiotherapy degree. I continue to work as a practising physiotherapist, bringing clinical experience into my approach to athlete development and performance.

Today, Cassiopeia Performance brings these experiences together. I’m passionate about understanding the individual behind the athlete and helping people get the best from their body, their training and their performance — both on and off the bike.

I still love riding my bike and get out whenever I can — on the road, on gravel and on the dirt.
